I bought it after some good promo reviews, it's certainly a nice disc but a
bit wishy washy in places I found. It's chilled in an air vain but more
acoustic.

The blue states disc never really grabbed me. I haven't listened to it for
ages, and after seeing them live last week I'm not encouraged to again, it
just didn't grab me as something very inventive. Seems like some
reasonably talented people trying to be profound, but it just doesn't seem
extra special. It got rave reviews as a downtempo release, but I don't
really rate it.
Animal magic, on the other hand, quickly became one of my favourite releases
of all time. Think tobin meets wai wan meets crazy genious with a
beautiful source of sounds. Every track is a gem and are arranged
beautifully - put the album on late at night, fill the room with haze, and
you'll be in heaven. Amon helped with some of the production on the album
I believe, together with some remixes, be sure to track them down,
especially the tobin mix of bonobo's 'scuba' and the bonobo mix of tobins '4
ton mantis'.
tata,
Tom.
