Hi all: i read a thread in here some time ago regarding the capability of fully downloading a streaming Mpeg file using Window Media Player. Is this true? If so, can you outline the how-to? Are there any Mac apps that do this as well? cheers, peace, paulo _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I don't believe that there is such thing as a streaming .mpg file. Perhaps you are thinking of .asf files. If you are, you definitely cannot copy them through Windows Media Player. The solution is a program called ASFRecorder. I think it can be found pretty easily on most shareware websites. Anyway, you put in the address of the .asf stream and it downloads it for you into a nice, non-streaming .asf file. Its very convenient for downloading all the nice streaming IDM videos avaliable at www.sputnik7.com. Has anyone checked out the videos on that site? Nice 300k streams that don't look too bad blown up to full screen. Ok. Have fun. -Aaron

You can stream mpg files. I'm not too sure of the ins and outs, but a quick search on google should turn up a few results. Like this one for example: http://www.sigmadesigns.com/support/faq_streaming_mpeg.htm#1 -ben
