Death Cab, Slint Members to Guest on Dntel LP
Capabilities of Dntel's Pentium processor fully utilized in album's creation
Michael A. Cavagnaro reports:
According to an official press release, IDM entity Dntel will be releasing a
new full-length album on Plug Research Records. Entitled Life Is Full of
Possibilities, this recording attempts to bring an organic sentiment to the
more traditional clicks, bleeps, and blorks of the electronic music idiom.
Notable in this natural feel is the addition of "fluctuating guitar
snidbits" to the mix-- either a humorous typo, or a revolutionary form of
industrial guitarwork. We're thinking maybe both.
Dntel man-behind-the-curtain Jimmy Tamborello (ex-Strictly Ballroom) has
brought in his other ex-Strictly Ballroom mates Chris Gunst and Paul Larson
for the project, as well a bunch of friends to lend vocals and
instrumentation to the songs. This wide-ranging set includes-- but is not
limited to-- Mia Doi Todd, Meredith Figurine, Rachel Haden (ex-That Dog),
Benjamin Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie), and Brian McMahan (The For
Carnation, ex-Slint). Look for the record on October 30th.
