So also, if you are looking for coverage on the whole WTC affair, but not the corporate assed crap on TV and cnn.com, check out Salon.com. Not owned by any corporation, they have excellent AP coverage in addition to great editorial staff. I haven't turned on my television since wednesday morning and with the help of Salon.com have managed to stay totally informed without subjecting myself to the carefully orchestrated "Attack on America" on TV. Now, speaking of non-IDM music (converge IS pretty rockin btw), I just obtained the latest album by the Secret Chiefs 3 and it is just incredible. Maybe it is slightly IDM relavent because there are a couple techno-y/drum n bass-y tracks and lots of microtonally tuned analog synths. Regardless, if you have a passing interest in the fusion of balkan/indian/gypsy musics with electronics and ROCK, pick this album up. So its called "Book M". Goddamn is it good! -Aaron ----- Original Message ----- From: "jah s" <princejammy@hotmail.com> Date: Saturday, September 15, 2001 4:56 pm Subject: [idm] not exactly my $0.02, but worthwhile...

Wow I'd forgotten about the existence of Secret Chiefs 3. I really dig they're other albums, especially they're more "eastern-meets-drum n' bass" sounding stuff. My friend who introduced me to them said that they were somehow related to Mr Bungle. Is this true???? Anyhow, I'm off to find me a copy of Book M...
