well, you certainly have a cool head. i think everyone is saddened, angry and now very scared. i know i am. i am flying to japan on ocotber 5th and am very uncomfortable about it. i don't think anyone wants to live in fear. i hope the governement knows what it is doing. The war here is not against a country, its against terrorist groups...a war like non we have ever seen, and its against the countries that house these groups....so, most all countries in the world, on all levels are with us, it seems Afghanistan is going solo....their mistake.

That would make the U.S. even more hated...these people are anti-U.S., if we try and make them more like us...well thats about the worst we can do as far as they are concerned. We are not the most powerful nation in the world for no reason....its because, yes, we know what were doing, our government is not stupid. There are a million sides to this beast of a story, too many to look at here on this list with out turning it into the "IDM Political Actions List". I think it would be best for everyone if we take our political views else-where...yes this is such a major issue that it is hard to not discuss, but let us preserve some things to use as an escape from the months ahead.... You're right. Which is also why the US bailed out Germany and Japan at the end of WW2, and why we, with the UN, tried to help Somalia in '93. In Somalia, we had to leave, because the government was killing the relief workers. When we've tried to send goods to the people of Afghanistan, the Taliban confiscate the goods or threaten to kill the people that are *trying to help the poor*. The terrorist pay the government (that no one recognizes), who keep the terrorists hidden. Notice how, now that pakistan has agreed to let the US use their air space and help look for bin Laden, Afghanistan is threatening to attack pakistan? That's because the Taliban knows that as soon as bin Laden is gone, they're gone too. And that's stupid, because all it will do is help the normal people of Afghanistan feed their families.
