i don't if this has been discussed... but what is the story with Mum's new release? is the remix 12" going to be released on CD? ALSO, thanks to this lovely listserve i've been turned on to much good music which i need to further explore, and seek the economic assistance of cd compilations... is there a Systemf3 compilation? how about a City Centre Offices compilation? Neouija comp? (though i was very disapointed with Scenic...) As far as i know the new Mum remix 12", Please Excuse My Noise Bleed on Morr Music, has already been released on cd. But if you're referring to either of the two remix 12"s on Mum's on TMT Entertainment label out of iceland, then probably not. Speaking of these remix releases, I'm still enjoying the Morr cd with it's breathtaking remixes by Arovane, Isan, Phonem, Christian Kleine, and B.Fleischmann and the remixes on the new(?) TMT 12" by Traktor, Mu-Ziq, and Bix. Quality light-hearted electronica for these heavy-hearted times.

There is no Systemf3 compilation because systemf3 is just a website that features information on the whole future3, opiate, dub tractor collective. But if you want some excellent compilations that feature those three artists i highly recommend the three Boredom is Deep & Mysterious comp cds on the April label. All three feature a plethora of tracks by Future3- related acts. More information at: http://www.vow.dk/april/ or http://www.systemf3.com
quoted 1 line how about a City Centre Offices compilation?>how about a City Centre Offices compilation?
The CCO compilation Cashier Escape Route is the only compilation release to come out on CCO so far and it features tracks by Skanfrom, Solvent, Opiate, Phonem, Lexcanpult, and Arovane to name a few. More info at http://www.city-centre-offices.de
quoted 1 line Neouija comp? (though i was very disapointed with Scenic...)>Neouija comp? (though i was very disapointed with Scenic...)
There was a Neo comp that was released last year called Cottage Industries which featured tracks from Phonem, Bauri, Plod, Yunx, Geiom, Herrmann & Kleine, and Solenoid to name a few. There is actually a second Neo Ouija compilation coming soon called: Annexe - Cottage Industries vol 2. appologies if this topic has run through recently, but when the hoot-nany is the new MUM Lp coming out?! i just listeneed to Yesterday again, and must say that it's still as fresh sounding as when i first heard it. what beautiful songs! and if their two and a half new tracks on the Morr remix album (which also kicks magnifique), Noise Bleed, then these kiddies have stayed true to their path of imaginative fantasy music. here's praying they make it to nyc in support of their next-up! ps. has anyone heard their pre-Yesterday LP? always wondered about that... but am scared of disappointment.... ya know? nat. _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I heard a couple of early tracks on MP3, and they weren't very good. Didn't even sound like the same group, really. And no, they weren't tracks by the European group MUM - they definately had Icelandic vocals. Just had a very different sound, not nearly as electronic and atmospheric. From pitchforkmedia.com: The foxy Icelandic quartet M?m are preparing their sophomore effort, Finally We Are No One, for release on May 20th through Fatcat in the UK. The follow-up to the stellar Yesterday Was Dramatic, Today Is OK (#7 on Pitchfork's year-end list for 2001) includes a little help from Samuli Kosminen (who bangs drums, pots and pans, and something called dingldangls) and ace Icelandic programmer/engineer Valgeir Sigurdsson, who also worked on a little record you might have heard of called Vespertine. The album will be preceded by a single, "Green Grass of Tunnel," due later this month on Fatcat on either seven-inch vinyl or as a three-inch CD. The single will contain a different edit of the title track and the non-LP cut "In Through the Lamp." M?m are expected to promote Finally We Are No One with a promotional tour in May. Tr?cklist: 01 Sleep/Swim 02 Green Grass of Tunnel 03 We Have a Map of the Piano 04 Don't Be Afraid, You Have Just Got Your Eyes Closed 05 Behind Two Hills, A Swimming Pool 06 K/Half Noise 07 Now There's That Fear Again 08 Faraway Swimming Pool 09 I Can't Feel My Hand Any More, It's All Right, Sleep Still 10 Finally We Are No One 11 The Land Between Solar Systems --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Regarding the new Múm release, "Finally We Are No One".. i have to say that after a few days of it sitting quietly on my desk, that it is definitely worth a spin in your CD-tray.. for those of you who enjoy a more instrumentally peaceful release with slight elements similar to the likes of Broadcast, Isan, Plone and Plod, then this new one on Fat-Cat will treat you just right. This Icelandic quartet have quite the formula on this release --an album that works quite well in the late hours. I'll have to seek out their previous full length as well.. "Yesterday Was Dramatic, Today Is OK".. honestly.. i cannot get this one off my cd player. others i've played it to have said they think it is too sugary sweet... i mean it is sweet, but not quite on a plone level i don't think.. it is more organic than that, it sounds 'live' quite a lot, not stuck in an electronic world... i just think it is a truly remarkable album and for me one that i won't be able to forget in a hurry. not heard anything on a melodic tip which has got me so excited as this. tom np: akufen - quebec nightclub .... whoa. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
