Rather interesting article about Richie Hawtins new 'mix' album in this months Jockey Slut. In it he goes over some of the gear he uses and he also mentions a piece of software called Final Scratch which sounds very interesting. Anyone here know of it/have used it? Basically it allows you to manipulate any sound file on your PC by using a deck (!). As far as I can figure out/guess there's a special record which you play, then you feed the output from this into your soundcard. The software must sample this in real time and then use the data to manipluate the sound file, so you can speed it up, slow it down, scratch etc. It sounds like it works as well... A little more info is as http://www.finalscratch.com glenn.
