On Archive, outta Italy. Nubian Mindz themselves are Italian (not sure *where* they got the name, but I'll leave that alone), but they sound straight outta Detroit, with fat analog chords and tight, percussive breaks. If you liked records like Nu Era (who I *think* is Dego) on Archive, or the techhier 2000 Black/ West London stuff, you'll like this. While I don't think it's the best thing to come out of that scene, it's worth checking out. I bet there are reviews up at Forcefield as well (URL?) -- I know those guys are big Archive fans. Cheers, Philip

I could be wrong but I don't think Colin Lindo AKA Alpha Omega is Italian. He's said in many interviews that early Detroit techno has had an everlasting affect on his music. Volcov (Enrico) the guy that runs Archive Records is Italian. I recommend everything that I've heard from Archive Records, the only one thet didn't do it from me was from Theo Parrish.

Dego) on Archive, I heard it was Mark Mac, and not Dego. Dego does have a single on Archive under the name Pavel Dego Kostiuk.

you'll like this. DOMU is my favorite guy on the techier side of the broken beat scene. Domu's LP on Archive should be excellent!! I'm also looking forward to hearing the Domu & Nubian Mindz remixes for Delsin Records. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yeah, I screwed up bigtime on this one. Sometimes I get these wires crossed in my head. So since I associated Nubian Mindz with Archive I somehow got it stuck in my head that NM were Italian also. I hereby recant all my former statements regarding NM's nationality. Also, I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the Communist Party.

At least I was in the ballpark here. I hereby revoke all my discographic privileges.

You better believe it! Check out a recent Blaktronics 12" with a remix from him on Moving... killer killer stuff... Cheers, Chagrined Philip
