im sure if i have mentioned it here before, but tomlab is one of the best labels around right now. IMO they are putting out some of the most innovative music out there.. beautiful, loopy, trippy, organic, psychedelic, oddly poppy, cute, warm... like the sanrio/paul frank of electronic music (well, the cute part at least :). http://www.tomlab.de they just put out 2 new cds: niobe "radioersatz" pretty, weird, loungy music that feels very dream island vacation-like, if your dream island vacation includes excess amounts of pharmaceuticals and pretty female vocals (mine does) novisad "seleya" loopy, simple, droned-out sounds that should appeal to ex[current?] shoegaze kids. gorgeous ambient stuff that is perfect for mellow moments [and i dont mean the smokey kind, but im sure thatd work too -- unfortunately, i wouldnt be the best person to test that, but if there are any volunteers in austin id gladly loan out the cd :) so, yeah. highly recommended. chris. aim|cuddlenoise --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yeah, i second this. tom puts out incredibly great stuff. the sack and blumm album that was released a few years ago is definitely one of my favorites. can't wait to get the niobe and novisad discs from skimo... go tom! alan p.s. anyone who hasn't done so should go take a look at the postbag section of cylob's website. hilarious! http://www.cylob.dircon.co.uk/home.html On Mon, 27 Aug 2001, zimbo wrote:

Maybe it is also worth saying that the very first cd on Tomlab from Visor (feat Senking etc...) has been rereleased on digital narcis. The mentioned Niobe and Novisad cd's are also available on 10" (Niobe) and lp (Novisad)

Wow! After hearing some of the samples on the website, I'm hooked. It's that great feeling when you spend ages thinking 'wouldn't it be great if someone made music like this,' and then finding that they do and it is. Thank you idm list! For all your spam, you still throw up gems from time to time! One question on this subject... how available are these records? I'm hitting Soho on friday - do I have any chance of finding them in the usual places? thanks d. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
