I think its an open acceptance of a variety of sounds and these guys are
definitely the type
to be down with both the extreme and the somber. I think its equally
exciting
that there's tons of new producers that draw from all different styles...
But personally i was into hardcore before i was into "idm"...
but it seems like the styles are blurring more of late which is nice...

Subject: [idm] Is Hardcore Techno worthy! or is Bad taste back in fasion???
Hi All,
I was told a story recently about Aphex Twin playing at a Festival in
France. Apparently he turned up and played 1 hour of brutal speedcore, much
to the dismay of the organiser. With people like Mike Paradinas, Aphex Twin,
and numerous other artists now embracing a lot of Hardcore Techno (for want
of a better word) I was wondering what the general feeling about this was
from people on the list who have spoken out against Hardcore Techno in the
past. There are a lot of producers out there like Hellfish, The DJ Producer,
Max Death, Nasenbluten, Traffik and many many besides who are making some
very innovative music which is being played out by some of your idols yet
people are still writing it off as rubbish.
So the question is......
In 1 years time will the perception of Hardcore Techno by some IDM'ers be
changed, if the likes of the people above continue to support it?
Cheers
