A few quick reasons why I'm drawn to IDM... - It's more texturally interesting and has more complex arrangements than most music I hear. - Many of the most original (to me) IDM artists, i.e. Autechre, Aphex, BOC, are completely off in their own musical worlds. - Quite a bit of IDM has a distinctly psychedelic edge to it. Speaking of which, if anyone has some recommendations for some good, lesser-known psychedelically-styled whatnot, I'd love to hear 'em... I'm drawn to stuff that has an unsettling, floaty, dreamy sort of a feel (nicely flowing warped tunes, etc.) so any ideas along those lines would probably float the boat most nicely. - jake --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

alice coltrane makes lovely floaty spiritual and, i say hesitantly, psychedelic jazz inflected stuff with her harp and usually with pharoah saunders' own quixotic sax musings. gregory
