Hey all, I will be playing in the chill out room at the Bohemian in downtown Seattle (2nd and Jackson) at 2am Saturday night (Sunday morning). I haven't been there before, but I hear-tell it is a touch on the sketchy side so I was hoping to get a nice idmer presence there to show all those funky bar folk how to do some proper chin scratchin'. My long time partner in crime, commander muschi, will also be present. He will be providing some quality chill-out strangeness after my set, of course there is a slight possibilty that he may play before me--you never can tell with these things. Sure to be a grand ol' time for all. There is probably some sort of a cover, but I have no idea what it is. yeah, i just did some more research on the whole thing and have discovered that the bohemian is super scary. apparently there have been a few shootings and the club is over-run with prostitutes and drug dealers, so i think i will be cancelling. it's sad tho, i was really looking forward to laying down some nice hip-hop idm. oh well. That's a shame, actually. I was planning on trying to head down there this evening if my tired self remained conscious long enough. As far as the neighborhood is concerned, I have a studio just two blocks from the Bohemian & often work there late at night. While one can expect to occasionally get harrassed for a cigarette or a quarter, I've yet to experience anything that truly made me fearful. And in regards to your comment about the place not being safe for people to dance, well, this is an urban area. You're always going to have some element of the less attractive aspects of city living when you go out on a Saturday night. Plus this is Seattle, anyway. We're not talking New York.
