Anyone else checking out the Bad Orb releases? I got the first three in the mail today, here is the info on the artists from the "Certificate of Authenticity".... Bad Orb 1: S.E. Berlin (Max Loderbauer and Tom Thiel) Bad Orb 2: Ayumi Hamakai (produced by Max Matsuura , add prod and remix by Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann) Bad Orb 3: Autolump (Fil LeGonidec & Pantoes Relax) Some of the tracks are pretty darn good. Who are these people? Are these aliases? According to the certificates, there were 481 copies made of bob1, 486 of bob2, and 473 of bob3 in case anyone was wondering, also a heads up--they are going to stop taking orders for the 4th on on the 21st of this month. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yup, just got mine yesterday. I was very impressed...the tracks are excellent. Not really very Orb-like at all. Hey, thanks for the heads-up. I wonder why I didn't get a mailout letting me know about this months' release? Weird. Anyhow, I've just ordered bob4. I got the last bobs on Tuesday. bob1-3 are very nice, ranging from minimal techno, to abstract ambient. Well recommended. The shirts are pretty cool too. If you see someone wearing one you know they are one of the lucky 481 =) I was actually pretty surprised there were so few orders. Did any of you order more than one copy (eg. for Ebay) I didn't because I'm not about to spend the extra $40 just so I can rip someone off on Ebay in 6 months from now. My question is ... with shipping, to the US, it looks like each 12" is 4 pounds plus 4 for shipping. That's like US$16+ for each 12". Now I'm as much of an Orb geek as the next guy, but $16 per record? I kinda feel like I could spend that $16 better on a million other things I want right now. Thoughts? Well, I just ordered my 4th BOB, and the total came to 8.5 pounds, roughly 12-13$ US. Yes it is a bit steep, but when you consider that less than 500 copies were pressed of the first three, it's worth it in my mind. I mean, you CAN'T get these records anywhere, and they are extremely good. If these first three hadn't impressed me I probably would have passed, but I am now hooked and will continue to support LX until he releases a shite record, which I don't see happening anytime soon. Sure you could spend the money on something else, but which one will you be able to get a month from now? You make the choice :) -- ^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^- omz beautamous loaf recordings http://www.hotweird.com/loaf/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yeah but it's $16 for an ultra limited-edition trainspotters dream ;-) They give you a certificate of authenticity and when all the orders are filled the vinyl is pressed and deleted the same day. That's pretty damn elite for all you IDM'ers out there ! Also, the music really is nice and well worth the money. Really, if you've got an extra $16 (less than a tank of gas these days - but let's not go there) then there really is no reason to pass it up. It's once in a lifetime yunno? Dorking out: your math is a touch off. The pound is trading around $1.45, which makes each 12" around $11.60 or so. Higher than most import 12"s to be sure, but much more limited as well. laz Resonant Sound wrote:

Dontcha just love how the subscription costs more per record than buying seperately??? Rather the reverse of most "subscriptions". Bother. Just gotta remember to order 'em in time.
