just went record shopping recently and I got a bunch of interesting items, the best of which are these odd European 12"s. The first two are on a label called Staubgold, and are hands down the best recods of the day! Groenland Orchester - Nurobic Rafael Toral - Violence Of Discovery And Calm Of Acceptance anyone know anything about this label? Is all there stuff this good? The first record is idm pop that tastes like it was made with duplo blocks. The second is guitar generated ambient pieces. Knottel Remixed is on some label called "lnv", from Berlin. High quality music, but I've never heard of this label before. Other recent albums I'm enjoying: Pink Floyd - Ummagumma 12"x2 Loren Mazzacane Connors & Suzanne Langille - Come Night CD The Azusa Plane - America Is Dreaming Of Universal String Theory CDx2 Mick Harris & Anthony Child - Certain Beyond All Reasonable Doubt CD Sixtoo - The Psyche Intangible CD Tetsu Inoue - Fragment Dots CD Christian Marclay & Thurston Moore & Lee Ranaldo - Fuck Shit Up: Victoriaville Mai 1999 CD Lowfish / Cim / Isan - A.D.S.R.011 7" I-Sound - No Light 7" Quasimoto - Hooks 45 7" To Rococo Rot + D - Smaller Listening 7" Sixtoo - The Secrets That Houses Keep 10" Flossie And The Unicorns - The Animals' Clubhouse 12" A-Sides - Big Request 12" Prisoners Of Technology - The Trick Of Technology 12" Visionary- In Time / Right Now 12" Division One - Boase Up / No Charity 12" Slepcy - And Again 12" Foreign Legion - Let Me Tell You Something 12" Squarepusher - My Red Hot Car 12" Susumu Yokota - Grinning Cat 12"x2 Kit Clayton - Latke 12" Nedjev - Amoe / Cane 12" Lexaunculpt - Oh Heres Some Noises 12" Monolake - Ionized 12" Nanospeed Feat. Spacetank - Membran Tracks 5-8 12" I would definetly appreciate more reccomendations along these lines! I don't have time to keep up with music as much as I used to so based on this list please let me know of any other must have recordings. CPI - experimental noise at http://www.mp3.com/cpi/ DXM - abstract ambient at http://www.mp3s.com/dxm1/ ......and of course... http://www.mp3.com/AwkwardBehaviour "Wouldn't you say, Pooh?" / "Say what?" asked Pooh, opening his eyes. / "Music and Living-" / "The same thing," said Pooh. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I love all the Sack & Blumm related stuff, but I found some of the other releases to be disappointing, such as the Tesendalo album (who I like quite a bit). I've found pretty great success in the Klangstelle sublabel, which seems to be all about Klangwart. I also recall the Institut fur Feinmotorik record to be pretty upstanding as well. Hey, did anybody go see Monolake in New York last night? Or have any reactions to his other US gigs? Anybody at Transmissions? Bueller? -rob --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i used to buy most of the records on staubgold but, like rob, was disappointed quite a few of them so i havent checked out anything new on staubgold for about a year. the one staubgold release that i did enjoy immensly was the institut feur feinmotorik release which featured 6 or so tracks of ultra-minimal techno not unlike some of the early thomas brinkmann releases. i actually sought out all the other institut feur feinmotorik releases and was able to find several other of their records on labels like Fusetron and their own IFF label. Speaking of Sack & Blumm, the new FS Blumm cd on Morr Music is right in line with the previous Harold 'Sack' Zeigler and F.S. Blumm related releaes. I wholeheartedly agree about the strength of the Klangwart releases. Definitely the strong point of the Staubgold- related catalog. Mesmerizing krautrock-influenced electronica - especially the koln/olpe lp.
