saw plaid last night for the first time. better then I expected as I am not a big plaid fan. they had some technical difficulties to start with, but had great visuals which made up for the delays pleasently. i keep thinking to myself if only ae would have did something like that .... Whats with Mira? all she did was spin mostly records from the warp catalog. the word about Tom was that right before he got on the plane to fly to the US he had some sort of panic attack. that would explain why the 'illness' has lasted for at least 3 shows. "Do you often feel depressed or unhappy?" heh. "Do you eat too slow?" where did they get that shit? great... klint. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yeah. I thought the show was sick! The visuals were stunning, and Plaid did not disappoint at all. Their set seemed more techno-ish than I expected, with lots of running mutant loops and so forth. Really nice, especially to hear live on a great sound system. I enjoyed it immensely. And it was pretty packed, even w/o Square. I feel bad for the people in the cities they cancelled! Plaid could fill the spots just themselves, I mean, they're heroes! Calix, yeah. I couldn't help but think: shit, I could do THAT, and I would look less bored while I did it! Nice records, to be sure. Enjoyed what she played, but if she's so bored, why doesn't she just stay home? Reminded me a bit of Andrea Parker, last time I saw her spin in Portland (a decidedly uninspired set). I felt like walking up to her and saying "what, did your poo' witto record label make you do this tour? poooor baby!". Calix ... dunno. Any local DJ would have done as good or better a job. But I guess they're not 'celebrities'. Great show overall, though. Thanks to Warp for the treat. C.
