Lali Puna is a band that's released some on Morr Music, there was just an email on the list a few minutes (hours?) ago about Villalobos, and I've been under the impression for a while that C-Pij has something to do with the Swordsmen themselves, though I'm probably wrong and misguided on that count. I did some research for a review (and I must say, allmusic didn't help at all! ;)). Pretty obscure, all. C-Pij -- had something out on Lo a while back, mysterious character Villalobos -- best known of the bunch. 1/2 of Ric Y Martin. Has tons on Perlon etc. Amazing DJ. Minimal techno god. The Cause -- no fucking idea Simulant -- some electro peeps... old reviews up on Forcefield Decal -- Irish, with some older drum'n'bass tracks on Leaf. I believe Autechre has remixed him. Dry and Heavy -- excellent Japanese dub, with recent albums on BSI... cheers philip

The Cause is the hard techno guise of Craig Walsh & Scott Braithwaite. The Cause have had a dozen or so 12"s out on labels like Fragmented and Primate. I have a few of their 12"s and they sound reminiscent of Claude Young or Stimulus label Paul Mac releases. No, Lali Puna is not Tim Simenon. They are a band from Europe that shares members with some other groups like The Notwist. Lali Puna and Bomb The Bass did an EP together that was released a few months ago on Morr Music, but that's where the connection ends. I believe C-Pij is Andy Weatherall's wife Nina Walsh who ran a 7" label under that name that was mentioned in the notes for Law & Auder's Female Of The Species comp. C Pij also did a remix on 2LS's Receive Tactical Support 12". Decal also had tracks on various Law & Auder comps, Language's Miscellaneous II and Lo Recording's The Wormholes Of Your Mind EP.
