I find my myself quite liking the second track off of AFX's Men 1 cd(DJ pierre I guess). Then I whipped out I Care Because You Do. I thought to myself "Is this the same guy who gave us Alberto Basalm?" However much I like that second track (I like the bonus track even more, if only because it plays with your ears more than anything), I'm quite depressed by the fact that the man/genius maching that gave us Alberto Basalm hasn't quite reached, perhaps even tried, to reach the sublime peak he hit with Alberto. That track is Armstrong-West End Blues sublime. Pretty saddenign, the thought that he can do that kind of stuff and doesn't as often. RDJ album is great, but not Alberto great. But who am I to critize someone like him. Just a thought. I even bet DrukQs doesn't hit that peak. Anyone else agree? at the worst its a waste of brillance most probably just my taste np: ALBERTO BASALM --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Oh for fuck sake, their remixes for crying out loud. 808 state to be precise. Is it not ok for an artist to release manys differenet styles of records that require completely different mental and emotional approaches? Stop being so hyper critical. Alberto was great and perhaps the greatest, however please dont disregard something that has been produced for a completley different reason.. Also please give druQus a fair trial. Ears before mouth!!!

I was drunk when I wrote the letter. I know their remixes. Still would have been nice if he had put on a Nannou or something. On Sat, 4 Aug 2001, anne teh wrote:
