only spent a couple of days in korea in may. there's an interesting arts scene and some interesting late night bars... but didnt make it to any as i was there midweek....never found any real record shops but there are supposed to be some nr. the university. there is a brilliant late night market in seoul that opens from 10pm and closes at 5am and consists of a mile of six to ten story buildings filled with shops with everything / anything trendy-wise, ie clothes, shoes. bags, tshirts at half the price... ask around for the market its overruns for factories that make stuff for japan and europe but the only thing in those markets music wise is local korean pop and jpop and lots of weird soft porn dvd;s and vcd;s which may not read in europe or the states as they have different tv frequencies.... net connection is pretty awesome in korea, and most koreans are into on-line gaming and there's a big napster equivalent over there but all the sites are in korean....it's definitely NOT like going to tokyo or hong kong (monitor records is pretty cool in hong kong) and the biggest music in korea is new age ambient and jazz try the lotte centre - altho i missed it, i heard there were some record shops there. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
