DJ GODFATHER (Twlilight 76, Databass) and DISCO D (GTI Recordings)
DJ GODFATHER
Mention ghetto tech and Detroit in the same sentence and DJ GODFATHER's name
is likely to follow. With over 40 12" releases under his belt, as well as
remixes for Fatboy Slim, Westbam, Kid Rock, Luke and DJ Laz, the sound
forged by his Twilight 76 and Databass labels has helped define ghetto tech
as a globally recognized genre. His spectacular abilities behind the
turntables have amazed crowds worldwide, making him a staple on the European
dance music circuit. His diverse DJ sets combine elements from electro,
ghetto house, Miami bass and jungle, along with mind-blowing turntablism.
DISCO D
At the young age of 20, DISCO D has firmly established himself as a driving
force behind the exploding ghetto tech movement. Described by Details as "a
phenom, blowing away DJs nearly twice his age", D has received worldwide
praise for his unique blend of hard-hitting music, smooth mixing and
turntablist tricks. He has recorded for Bad Boy Bill's Contaminated label,
most recently breaking off to form GTI Recordings (GTI meaning the Ghetto
Tech Institute) in order to help take the Ghetto Tech sound to the next
level. D is currently hard at work on his debut full-length album for GTI,
which features collaborations with such notable urban artists as Twista,
Bounty Killer, Princess Superstar and Paradime, to be released Fall 2001,
while concurrently pursuing his degree in business at the University of
