I saw on the warp site that a 2LS remix album is coming out soon, with a Dry & Heavy remix... I love Dry & Heavy's "Full Contact" and "Dry & Heavy Meet King Jammy in the Jaws of the Tiger".... can someone point me to a Dry & Heavy discog? Do they have many Japan-only releases? Named after the 1977 Burning Spear album of the same name Dry & Heavy is the said project of drummer Shigemoto Nanao (aka Dry) and bassist Takeshi Akimoto (aka Heavy) who also record as Audio Active for On-U Sound. To date Dry & Heavy have released three albums: 'One Punch' and 'Full Contact' contain original new-school dub-reggae tracks whereas 'Dry & Heavy Meet King Jammy In the Jaws of the Tiger' is a remix album where King Tubby cohort Prince Jammy (now known as King Jammy) remixed tracks from Dry And Heavy's first two albums (One Punch + Full Contact) creating a solid retro root-dub album. Here are the Dry & Heavy releases that i do know about... I've read that Dry & Heavy have done remixes for Asian Dub Foundation, The Skatalites, and Arrested Development but i've not actually seen or heard the remixes themselves. not everyday one gets to give lance some info...BSI is in portland (or seattle, somewhere up there) run by ezra erikson...big muslimgauze fans (have put out the melt 12" among others) and they are the sound secretion soundsystem, a dub-olla band like the heaviest you've ever heard.
