i came back from a trip to nyc with a few goodies. i'm NOT a reviewer, but
here's a few initial impressions...
zorn- the city's collapsing (but not tonight) lp- hard, incessant beats
with simple melodies.
opiate- objects for an ideal home lp- nice. i'm a sucker for twinkly,
chiming melodies and skittery
beats. i think this one's been out a while, but it's new to me.
manual- until tomorrow lp- this one's taking a while to sink in. depending
on my mood, it can be
quite nice to a little boring. lots of interesting layers of
sound though.
phonem- mechanic verses lp (repress)- okay, i'd read people's posts about
this record, so i thought
i'd give it a try. damn, i like this so much better than his
other stuff. very hip hop-y.
freescha- kids fill the floor lp- great! simple, chime-y melodies. very
warm/analog sounding. for
some reason it reminds me of getting home from middle school
right before the summer.
i don't know why...
echorausch- different waves lp-i don't really know anything about this, but
it's really good. it fits
right in with the other records i got.
thanks-- roy
