Is Mr. Hebden releasing something new soon? I take it his duties with Fridge are over for a while, seeing that he is taking in the Old World (or at least some parts of it) - a precursor to new material, or did I just miss a record over the last 7 months? I wish someone would write a review of a performance someday .. Can somebody send me an e-mail address for s://kimo? The new Plaid sounds quite a bit like the old Plaid, but not like the real old Plaid. I like the real old Plaid. But not like I like the old Plaid. New Plaid I like less than the latter. And the former. I wonder why? Where were all the IDM headz when Mouse on Mars/Tortoise/Takemura came to New Orleans? I didn't see a single designer label t-shirt (except mine) ... The way I heard it Fridge was one of his old projects that started getting attention after they broke up. The new Four Tet single "No More Mosquitoes" on Domino has the following tunes. . No More Mosquitoes . Flon . Look After Your Mermaid . Warmer Places I haven't heard it yet. I'm looking forward to hearing it. Anyone have any reviews? ===== SWOPE TRANSMISSIONS - FRIDAY Evening 6-9pm (Pacific) http://home.earthlink.net/~efrans/swope-transmissions Listen @ KUCI 88.9Fm Irvine, CA Streaming on the net at http://kuci.org __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Nossir, Fridge is still very much alive. Fourtet is just Hebden's solo side-project. There's a new Fridge album due in the fall, and MAYBE some live dates in North America around that time. Well, his new album came out this month on Domino, it's called "Pause". It's much better than the first one, which was pleasant but not really compelling. "Pause" works better as an album, plus the vinyl version is very beautiful. I had no problem finding it here in France, so I guess it's got quite a good distribution. I think Fridge has an album coming up soon? Their latest one was *really* something.
