I just noticed the website isn't up at the moment, but I haven't had any issues getting onto the server. I think the server might have recently found a new home. Regardless, Soulseek has been working just fine for me. Maybe the problem Adam (and others) is having is that you're using an older version and since the website is down, updating isn't avaliable. Anyway, there is now a Yahoo group for soulseek. I forget the url but if you search the yahoo groups for "soulseek" i don't think you'll have any problems finding it. So... that'd probably be the first place you'd wanna go to have any soulseek issues resolved. On an unrelated note... I noticed on the other music website that Prefuse 73/Mr. Lif will be at the Warp Nesh party tonight. What an exciting surprise. They certainly rocked the Tortoise show a month back. They've got a "tenative schedule" up at othermusic.com. I'm a little disappointed that the Richard Devine set overlaps the Squarepusher set. Not a tough decision for me though. Anyone read that interview with Squarepusher that there is a link to on the warp site? He mentions that after his recent first trip to the U.S., he now wants to live here and thinks this is "totally the place for him" or some such shit. Let me be the first to say FUCK YEA!!! He's our Squarepusher now and you can't have him back! -Aaron ----- Original Message ----- From: Adam Piontek <apiontek@yahoo.com> Date: Friday, June 22, 2001 12:17 pm Subject: Re: [idm] SoulSeek?

Interesting, I did a search on Yahoo Groups and nothing came up at all; I don't even get a link to the Soulseek webpage anymore via Yahoo, Google, Alta Vista, etc. But you're still getting onto the server? I get the message "could not resolve server address," which is not auspicious. I'm using 0.5.8, by the way; is there a more recent one? I never downloaded the "profiles" thing I kept getting offered, since it would crash each time I tried. So are there any real alternatives to Soulseek right now? It seems to me that it has been an exceptionally fun group of people into this sort of music. Aaron D Meyers wrote:
