who are worse than Arovane's Tides, and definitely not worth what little
praise they've had. Although I do think Tides is OK...
However, to turn this around from being a totally negative post, for "mellow
IDM" I nominate 310, who have two albums out on leaf. "The Dirty Rope" is
their best, completely mellow and beautiful all the way through, and their
recent "After All" is a nice follow up, though not as exciting, which is
pretty much what I predict the next BoC album to be in relation to "Music
Has The Right To Children".
Also, I would say Susumu Yokota does some nice mellow stuff, though it's
generally closer to ambient and more sleep-provoking than I think the
original asker of the question would be looking for.
