Aaahhh, the Connection Machine have produced some superb string- laiden detroit-influenced techno in the 90s but unfortunately I havent heard anything from them in years. The last time I chatted with TCM several years ago they said they had submitted several albums worth of tracks to Planet E for potential release but nothing ever came of it. I'll drop TCM another email to find out if there's anything new. Actually there were a few other releases: . Cray Emotion: E2L9 12" (Phoq U) - a hardcore record released as a joke . Plus some cassette-only releases on the dutch Drome Tapes label but most of those tracks ended up on the Utroid records. Plus a connection macine remix on: . Morgan Geist: 12" (Environ 01) BTW: if you want to talk with Connection Machine directly, their somewhat unfinished website is at: http://www.xs4all.nl/~connect/tcmindex.html

I havent personally heard either of the above two releases but i do know that Pieces of a Pieces of a Pensive State of Mind is one of the guises of dutch electro producer Frank de Groot (aka The Operator, Optic Crux, Urban Electro, Sonar Bass) so I would assume that it's in the electro style. Regarding the Bishop 12", if it's anything like his excellent 12" on Eevolute from back in 1994 then it's probably in the melodic detroit-influenced electronica style. BTW: The official U-Trax website resides at: http://www.xs4all.nl/~utrax/ but there's nothing of substance there at the moment. -- -->-Lance---- PO Box 450715 Westlake, OH 44145 United States --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
