So what do you guys and gals think of the new Air album? I'm amazed they're still on Astralwerks... they just keep getting stranger and stranger. God bless em! These lyrics get truly sappy, though... makes "Kelly Watch The Stars" sound profound. Astralwerks? Perhaps where you live that's who's got the licensing deal. My copy reads Source / Virgin France.

Well, to start with, English is not their first language. Obviously, all you Bob Dylan fans out there will disagree, but personally I don't mind vacuous words, since I'm not much of a lyrics / vocals fan myself - for me, it's the general *sound* and music that matters, which is why I like so much of the instrumental IDM stuff. I bought this album on the weekend and haven't listened to it more than twice, but yes, I do like it. Especially "Don't be Light". Anyway, in an interview they said Moon Safari was soft titillation, whereas this album's pornography. So there :-) I * --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Astralwerks is licensing them for the US. That reminds me of when I saw Air on TV a few weeks ago just when the album was to be released here in France. They said they recorded it in LA (you know, people are supposed to think you are cool if you record in LA), and that they were going to tour in the States first before coming to France because the US audience was not as demanding, and that they could play a crap show and the Americans would love it anyway (not meaning to offend anyone, I may be paraphrasing but that's what they said.)

English is not their first language and they don't have much to say, which would explain the sappy lyrics. I guess that also comes from aping people like Polnareff, who wrote stupid lyrics in the first place. well anyway. regardless of the fact that they may play a crap show in the US, I really really enjoy their music. Unfortunately I live in Austin. Unfortunately the show is sold out. so I'm hoping that fortunately someone has a ticket they'd be willing to sell me. My forms of currency are souls, money, favors, and slave term. so if anyone knows any way i can get a ticket, you'll have my undying devotion! thanks. -JoAnn __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
