coldcut visuals are done with their own software called vjamm
which works for pc only. you can demo it at

& sometimes they use photoshop 2...

if you really want to get deep into this, there's the eyecandy newsgroup
somewhere on the net & vjing/software/programs/effects/flamewars like idm is
all they seem to discuss.
