please post a review of this show when you get back. I'm curious to see if he performs any puppy tracks and if he does it so it sounds true to the original. I have a feeling that its going to be a lot of guitars. I didn't like the new album at all. Also, let us know if he comes out in a get up covered in blood with exloding babies and grungy homeless looking people trying to kill him. I'd go see that. np: styrofoam - no matter what so good it makes me cry :-) ____________________________________________ p l u m b d e s i g n Adesh Deosaran | Information Designer 157 chambers st ny ny 10007 p.212-285-8600 x240 f.212-285-8999 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

the original. To the best of my knowledge they played no Skinny Puppy songs live and had no plans to play any Skinny Puppy songs live at any of the Oghr shows. The closest they came was the second encore, which was the one track Ogre sings on off of the upcoming cEvin Key solo record. A large percentage of decked-out goths were at the show i was at, obviously anticipating a Skinny Puppy reunion show, and they were staring at the stage in horror, so much that Ogre, at one point yelled out "isn't this what you expected???"

It was exceedingly rock-oriented. If that's your thing, than you'll like the show. But if you are going to hear (a) electronic music, or (b) Skinny Puppy, you probably won't like it.

No pig's blood or exploding babies. Just Ogre stumbling around the stage like usual and the occasional prop (i remember a weird mask that had glowing eyes). And a decent video feed in the background. That's about it. --Sharon --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Hi Listers, I'm looking for access to a good MUSIC soft. (backup) server [hl server?] I have over 90 sample cd's and access to other smpl.cd. servers. I also have gazillions of musical (and non-musical) programs and plugins to contribute. I'm on a DSL. If anyone is a member of such a server, please mail me- off list naturally. Saw him in LA last week. Overall the show was pretty terrible, and I'm a huge Skinny Puppy fan. He plays a bunch of tunes from the new album a couple I didn't recognize from the Welt album or any SP release or SP related project (I'm guessing they were new ohGr tunes- he says in the new issue if Outburn that the entire next album is done). cEvin plays drums in the band and they did a song from his upcoming solo album. But, ya the show was just plain bad. The mix was downright awful for the first half of the show. The band is guitar, bass, keys, Nivek and cEvin. I'm still looking forward to the release of the Dresden reunion show, but that's now been delayed until the fall. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i doubt he will, and i'd prefer it not to sound true to the original. the version of smothered hope he did with mark walk was about the only redeeming thing about the remix dystemper album that was recently released, aside from the autechre thing.
quoted 2 lines I have a feeling that its going to be a lot of guitars.>I have a feeling that its going to be a lot of guitars. > I didn't like the new album at all.
are you stinking nuts? the new album is totally excellent. a perfect summery album. yeah, it's got a rock and roll kinda structure, but it's still very electronic, and very interesting production wise, but it has a pop edge to it, and i find nothing at all wrong with that. it sure as hell is better than that piece of shit that they peddled off as their last album, "the process" or whatever. what a load of doo. ogre sounds like he had a helluva lot of fun recording the "welt" album, and it shows through in the performances on the album.

i'd feel kinda ripped off if he did something like that. that definitely belongs to the skinny puppy ouvre, and ogre is certainly something else entirely.

i disagree, it's still a very electronic music sounding thing. it just also rocks. which is ok by me. skinny puppy had some rocking tunes too, you know. hey, after the crappy release that was Rx, bedside toxicology, i'm happy to hear ogre sounding like he's enjoying what he's doing. i can't wait to see the show, and i love the album. c. ... . .. . .. . . --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
