with all my love to DM, i was dissapointed by Exciter:( there are only 3 tracks on it that i like, which are not that great IMHO. comparing to previous albums like "Songs of Faith..." or "Ultra" the new album is bad, but it's only my opinion again , don't kill me die hard fans:) the CD i'd love to recommend is the album of ZORN, which was just released by LUX NIGRA (www.luxnigra.de) , i find it quite nice and interesting! --sasha ----- Original Message ----- From: "Irene McC" <substar@iafrica.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Tuesday, May 29, 2001 9:08 PM Subject: [idm] depeche mode

Hey All This is specific to people in US/Canada only... We're (as in Ninja Tune) in the process of gathering a loose street team. Looking for people throughout US/Canada to help us out. Basically if you live in a reasonably large city, are down with Ninja Tune, NTone, or Big Dada, go to a lot of shows, and go to a lot of record stores as part of your daily routine, and wouldn't mind helping us out with spreading flyers, posters, play copies etc... hit me back. In return we offer free stuff. Backscratch productions in effect. Don't reply to list. Reply to me directy at jeff@ninjatune.net, someone will then get in touch over the next couple weeks. Allight - what's the verdict? Exciter is currently at No 4 in my local music shop's Top 20, which makes me suspicious. I adore Dream On, the album version which is already getting over- airplayed, as well as Dave Clarke's deep and bassy Acoustic Mix (okay, so I'm a sucker for melody and a typical "girls love bass" candidate). How does the rest of the album stand up? I've seen a few "underwhelmed" comments on this list in the past month or so... have many of your heard it? Is it a Must Have? (I know it isn't exactly IDM, but I trust your (pl) judgement) IDM content : the Kid606 mix to my mind starts off promisingly in the 'right' key, and then goes off on a tangent and rips the heart and soul right out of the thing. I mean, he goes into a major key, for dog's sake! With glissandos and lots of fifths.
