1. autechre ate my head. i fucking loved it. could not stop moving. 2. where was the sound of trainwrecking? are the shows THAT different? 3. they did 4 songs. 4. the second song was sooo fucking 4 on the floor it was insane. 5. the third sond sounded like the tri repete song that the did a video for. or at least a fucking SERIOUS mix and deconstruction of it. 6. the fourth song built like mad and crushed my head (i guess that's when they chose to eat it). 7. there were no dancing bears or rock n roll hip shaking on stage. 8. the room was PACKED and remained so through the set and at least until i left, 15 minutes after, when rob hall came back on. 9. i like noise. 10. there was not a lot of it during ae's set. 11. i saw NO connection to richie devine. perhaps, PERHAPS to someone like phthalocyanine, but even then. 12. haswell is to my ears and mind what dj spooky should have been (i really loved how much shit he just kinda threw together.. wow!) 13. rob hall played some pretty good stuff, mostly electro, with some sick, thick, deep, dark, sinister bass. 14. some of the crowd danced. 15. i did not see haswell's first set. any comments? 16. i missed out on buying a shirt. awww. cry for me. they were simple. 17. i saw a lot of coil shirts. 18. cute girls danced during the ae set. 19. haswell seemed to piss off some people. i made a connection between speed metal and shoegaze and noise. it all seems to get to kinda the same place if you give it the chance. 20. mucho testosterone. 21. the crowd cheered on the noise at times. 22. boards of canada songs sound really good on a loud system. 23. autechre sound insane on a loud system. 24. dont ever lock yer neighbors cat in yer apartment when you go to a show. if you think AE shits all over people... 25. if you work at a fast food place and someone asks for no cheese, please be nice and don't put cheese on the food item. 26. there are some really nice people in austin. 27. i really REALLY liked the show. 28. i cannot tell for certain, but had it not be AE making the music they did, im pretty sure i would have still been floored. 29. i paid about 20$ for the show and am as happy as can be. 30. i am not a gear head. 31. bye bye. with love and superior counting skills, chris. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Hmmm...not sure I would go that far, but people were *definitely* dancing during the first number. It picked up well where Russel left off with some pounding beats.

Definitely concur. Merzbow's show here at the UT campus last fall was MUCH more noise than last night.

He played Cylob, Universal Indicator, BoC, FSOL...and also parts of the forthcoming Bola album, which he commented *might* be out by the end of the year. For all Chris's reasons and more, if you've a chance to catch them, I highly recommend it as well. laz PS:

This phenomenon was weirder than anything Ae played. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I wouldn't exactly call it trainwrecking but the first track seemed to be skipping quite a bit, almost as if there was a bad connection somewhere. The randomness was actually quite pleasing, and eventually grew more coherent throughout the set. The last track was definitely the highlight of the night.

I would have to agree with this. From my vantage point I saw quite a few people plugging their ears when the peircing chalkboard screeches were coming through. Viva earplugs.
