Hi everyone, I'm thinking of leaving Dublin for a while and relocating to Philadelphia (PA of course). Is there an IDM scene there, and who are the movers and shakers? Failing that, what's the music scene generally like? (techno, house, dnb, any weirdness...jazz even...) I have friends there, but they're all punks. Unlike Irish punks, they only listen to ...er... punk. Probably best to mail me off list. -nj --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Not much of an IDM scene, but a bit of an ambient/spacemusic scene surely. Check out the Stars End radio program and related concerts for starts: http://www.starsend.org/ For stores, check out 611 Records (611 S 4th, near South Street), and Digital Underground (if it still exists) on 5th between South and Lombard. 3

Digital Underground is now called Digital Ferret. Not much IDM stuff, but lots of gothic / industrial / ambient. 611 and Spaceboy Records (407 South St. next to Zipperhead) have good IDM selections. 611's is a little better, but the proces are ususally $1 - $2 higher than SpaceBoy. Repo Records (near 6th and South) has a decent electronic section, but nothing to write home about. hope this helps Dil ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: Zenon M Feszczak <feszczak@sas.upenn.edu> Date: Wed, 16 May 2001 10:55:32 -0400
