Wow! Where did you get this? I love the Motion tracks on that split, and the remix he did in that Fat Cat E-Rmx series. Funnily enough, doing a search on "motion" and "pictures" doesn't make things any clearer. :-) What you describe sounds reasonably similar to what I've heard. Some of that Microstoria feel, but often a bit more muted, with sharper and brighter sounds coming into the mix sometimes. And, yeah, the final track on the split is based around acoustic guitar. The only info I have found about Motion comes from that Fat Cat 12" split. His name is Chris Goode, and he is based in Kingston, England.
