I think their newest album is more static noise than ever before, may I add
brilliantly done, even if it was at random as said in the online interview.

yep.

I don't agree, just cause it has taken a turn in direction doesn't mean it
is drying up. You either like the direction or you don't, you either go
with it, or you don't. Apperently you don't like the direction, which is
okay. I don't think it constitutes the well being dry.

Since when IDM followed a list of agenda's or rules as to how it was suppose
to sound? At any rate, I find that brilliance is subjective, it is
dependent upon each individual and what they value most and how they view a
person applying that knowledge acquired. Some of my friends believe Pearl
Jam is brilliant, which I don't see why, but that doesn't mean I have any
right to say they aren't. Who knows, maybe I have my head up my ass and
that is why I don't understand why.

They are in the middle of it and you are missing it all.

I hope I just did.

Sometimes music doesn't need to be better to evolve. Why must we all look
for the "better" in anything that comes "new". I find that the older I
get, the more I appreciate what is out there, maybe my ideals have been
diluted, but I don't believe that is the case. I believe that I am opening
up to other options, like appreciating what people have to offer based on
the fact alone that that is their expression. The only difference between
Aphex, Squarepusher, Autechre, and the rest of us who are unrecognized is
just that, we are unrecognized and are not in the limelight of it all. If
you don't like what you are hearing, write music of what you want to hear,
after, that is what Autechre has repeatedly said that they do. They write
what they don't hear that they want to hear. And they do it cause they
want to, not cause someone wants them too.
BTW, isn't that why we should be doing music in the first place, cause we
want to and not cause it is what people want?
