I could get all defensive here and say what do you mean by "people like you" but I'll let that one be swept under the carpet.Because well, I'm not in high school anymore and I no one has to justify themselves to strangers on an email list. It's a fun shirt. It actually gets a lot of compliments when I wear it from people who wouldn't know kid606 if he slapped them with bologna. It's a fun souvenir from an excellent show. that's it. I could even go into the tangent about how hard it is to find "female sized" record/music tshirts because they are all made XL. But that will spring into a nasty female vs. male discussion-and I think we've been there enough. In short: Lighten up and stop taking yourself, kid606 and the music so seriously. Start having some fun. I've now spent too much time on this, diana -----Original Message----- From: sprek@soundmangle.com [mailto:sprek@soundmangle.com] Sent: Thursday, May 03, 2001 7:36 PM To: MikeD; idm@hyperreal.org Cc: ralph isis Subject: RE: [idm]WTF:Kid 606 shirt??why?? It's just a T Shirt. It's a cute joke. I think one of the main messages of Tigerbeat 6 is that people need to lighten the fuck up. What can I say, I'm not that familiar with the Tigerbeat6 crew... I've always pretty much stuck to the holy trinity of IDM. Speaking of which, how does Cex compare musically to Kid606? I enjoy both _Don't Sweat the Technics_ and _Down with the Scene_, but I heard Cex was much more mellow than those albums (ala _PS I Love You_). I'm not too hot on the whole Click+Cuts sounds. I'm sure Cex has been discussed to death here, but since I've subscribed no one has actually given a thorough description of his sound.

Cex is, IMHO, nothing like either the early Kid606 stuff (DSTT and DWTS) or the later Kid606 stuff (PSILY and the Soccergirl EP). "Role Model" is a nice CD, some melody, some beats, not exactly related to his live persona, and not full of DSP stuff. Actually, Cex's Role Model album is pretty good. It made me want to buy Starship Galactica, which is a major, and I do mean *MAJOR* disappointment. I should have listened to the negative words I've heard about it so far. It's only about 20 minutes long, and a third of the tracks are bullshit joke tracks. Now, I'm all into having fun and not being so intelligent I can't shake my own booty, but there's a reason most of us aren't into Eminem, Chris_tina Aguillelarrerreerelala or Spearing Britney.

You could also head over to tigerbeat6.com and check out the samples they have up in their discography; cex's site (tigerbeat6.com/cex) might have some samples too, though I'm not sure. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
