I'm going to expess an unpopular view here. Was this the same guy who was frontin' that he's the best electronic live act out there ? I enjoy Cex's recorded stuff but man this is a big pile o' wank if I ever heard one. Maybe I'd enjoy it more if I was drunk.......if I still drank. First I'm just gonna say that I think it's fine if it's not your thing (that's a general "your" just point at everyone who isn't into just shakin' "your" booty to cex). It's not like "you" are unintelligent because you don't like cex's "let's be dumb for a change" act (gee, how ironic! *gasp* - yer dumb cuz yer smart to be dumb) Second, I think it's really important to realize that cex's "frontin'" is *part of his act*. It's an extension of the whole thing, and I'm still lovin' it! That's right, I'm a cex convert. Cex live is all about actually connecting with a crowd. From some of the comments here I imagine people who are complete misanthropes, contemptous of human contact. And for crowds willing to feel what he's doing, it really works. The more arty/serious crowd tend to frown on his antics, but making those people uncomfortable is just a bonus in my book. When he played here it was a way better set than the one on line in my opinion, largely because the crowd was into what he's doing.
