A reminder about our evening of Kraftwerk music and a live cover band
here in Toronto tomorrow night at Rancho Relaxo (300 College St west of
Spadina). $5 at door 9pm.
I'm doing the analogue years, starting around 9.30pm.
Die Roboter is Dave Rout's baby. Read about it in the latest issue of
Eye.
For me Kraftwerk has always been about dance music. Ruckzuck from their
1st album was a big dance hit at their early shows - they improvised
around it. They actually were late to electronic pop (the French hatched
"Popcorn" in 1966) and Tangerine Dream used sequencers two years before
them, but Kraftwerk's Man/Machine concept gave birth to techno and is
still growing with every tour. Yes they still play, just not in Toronto
for 20 years!
