so i couldn't wait for the vinyl... picked up all natural's second nature on thrill jockey and the new clicks n cuts today (what a deal for the clicks n cuts -- 18.99 for 3 great discs.). Anyone's thoughts? All Natural is Chicago hip-hop, and very dope. Been following him since he appeared on Hundred Strong (aka Purple Penguin w/guest Mcs). Some nice idm-ey directions in hip-hop, but mostly straight-up funky ish with very intelligent rhymes. The Clicks n Cuts 2 -- well, shit. Absolutely fabulous. I like especially the new Vladislav Delay track Holiday. It's very different from anything he's done before, and even a bit funny in a way. Like a happier Uusitalo. :) or even a more realized sistol-era vladislav. The Farben track is great as well, among others, and the essay in the cd booklet is alone worth half the price of the cd. Everything you've heard about the new comp is true; it's more accessible, but in the milles plateaux accessible sort of way. Definitely not watered down, but in my opinion much less boring than the first. Mmmm, yummy. anyhoo vzaem mria ep is coming. soon. very soon. keep yer assholes puckered. ;P www.ampcast.com/vzaem --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yeah, yeah! I'm also VERY pleasantly surprised with SND's track on the clicks'n'cuts 2 comp...a nice change of vibe, coming at a perfect time. not that I had tired of SND's previous sound, but this is definitely a departure from what I've come to expect from them. I'd go as far to even say it's very groovy AND very melodic (I can't believe I'm hearing a bassline like that in a friggin' SND track! nice!). quite a bit more accessible, hence. but, of course, if you're longing for more of the "less accessible" stuff from the SND crew, mark fell's track on the recent 12k comp "between two points" is a nice collage of pieces. and yeah, the rest of the clicks'n'cuts 2 comp is lovely (in general) as well. em.
