yeah, he has produced it. the album isn't all that impressive, it's nothing really surprising, actually i was expecting more from mark bell, judging from what he did with björks "homogenic" which was all brilliant. then again, björk has been reinventing herself a lot more than dm has as of late. speaking of which, her new album "vespertine" sounds really good. i don't think bell is on it though but i don't know. it's a lot more minimal than homogenic, less strings, more snap crackle pop. /franz --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I like the music on "vespertine" a lot more, but.. is it just me, or are her vocals mixed really high? I normally like bjork's music because her voice takes an interesting place with the rest of the music, considering that her lyrics aren't necessarily anything too groundbreaking, but on "vespertine" it sounds like "oh, idm.. oh hey there's bjork.." instead of "hey, bjork's doing idm." Maybe I have a bad copy. cheers, /derek ------- eggytoast.com ------- now with HTML --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

there are mp3s to download on www.depechemode.com and the album's release pretty soon as well i think but to answer your question: ultra is probably the closest you get as far as previous efforts go. i've been listening to dm for a long time and i've got everything they've done, this is their least good effort so far imo. /f --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
