Hello, I just picked up a really nice 10" on Eat This records. It's: byetr#006a kaihoisa tracklisting: d'enborage - capacitor tronikgatan - ximniam More info at the Eat This webpage: http://www.xs4all.nl/ ~eatthis/html/home.html I'm also really impressed with the new Sluta Leta 12" on Chocolate Ind. Their stuff is always different and worth checking out. Finally, Artist Unknown's new LP...I can't decide if they're just another throw back to the synth- pop/electro sound or if they're doing something new (I only gave it a brief listen though, so I hope I'm not being too harsh). Oh! Jega-Geometry. Jega singles are amazing. Jega albums have left me less impressed. Can anyone comment on his "new live set" from the Planet Mu nights in the UK? frank ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I recently got Delarosa & Asora's Agony Pt. 1, Motmos' A Chance to Cut is a Chance to Cure. They are all pretty crisp sounding cds, with Delarosa & Asora being my favorite of the three. Agony is a fun cd that is pretty spastic, and offers a good amount of variety while still sounding pretty much the same from track to track. Its more of a headphone cd than a dance cd, unlike Matmos. Matmos is a more uhhh, electronica oreinted if you ask me, though the track composed entirely from the plucked and bowed rib cage of a rat is very unique and worth the purchase of the cd if you ask me. AEM's cd is very good for someone who isn't signed. I actually like it a bit more than Matmos. It reminds me of Solar X a bit. I would give Matmos and AEM a solid 3/5 stars and Delarosa & Asora 4/5 stars. The real find I got last week, though, was My Bloody Valentine's Loveless. This cd is flat out gorgeous. A wall of sound, a sea of guitars. Perhaps the greatest album ever recorded. And while it isn't IDM I would recommend everyone on this list list to get it because it is so unbelievably LUSH. Absolutely gorgeous, I've listened to it a few times every day since I've got it and have not grown bored with it in the least. The sound is so dense you can't even make out the lyrics. do yourself a favor and pick this up, put on some headphones and lay in bed all day while drifting down stream on a sea of undulating sonic clouds. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

:-) Took you a while to get there! This is now over ten years old, and still going strong - though I haven't listened to it in ages, it's always been and always will be a 'classic' in its own right. Far and away their best release, imo. Good reminder - I will put it on straightaway! of all these, my favorite is the paz suite (1-4) on agonypt1. its fucking so hot. the matmos isn't my favorite of their stuff. just heard "great white entertainers" off of the tigerbeat comp "attitude" (nwa...) and even if it is only like 20 seconds long, it made me laugh. the aem doesn't do enough for me. its nice,, i like the sound of it, but it just doesn't grab me. the my bloody valentine <crying guitars> is a fine piece of ass, imao. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Some quick reviews of stuff I got last week. By the way, I'm never wrong. I'll review the non-electronic stuff first. My Bloody Valentine- Tremolo, Glider, Isn't Anything: After listening to Loveless once or twice I immediately ordered the rest of MBV's available stuff. The two eps that coincide with Loveless, Tremolo(5/5) and Glider(5/5), are pretty good and worth picking up, they all carry then same drone from Loveless and are really great. I don't much care for Isn't Anything(3/5), for me its just a shadow or intimation of Loveless. I've never liked straight up rock since I heard Aphex. Probably a good cd though, I dunno, I can't be bothered to listen to the whole thing. Bjork - Homogenic: okay, but boring 2.5/5 Beach Boys - Greatest Hits Volume 2: great, but not as good as 1st Greatest Hits. Heroes and Villains, Break Away, and a bunch of others are paradigms of good songwriting. WHY IS IT STILL ALL IN MONO?!?!?! 4.5/5 Velvet Underground - Velvet Underground: okay, but boring 2.5/5 Now on to the electronic stuff: Chris Clark - Clarence Park: We may have lost Aphex, but his legacy lives on. This is a good cd, and it being Clark's debut is made great, because we can look forward to more good stuff from him. Nice short attention span electronica that could fit in with Aphex stuff. Check it out. 3.5/5 Cylob - Cylobian Sunset: If you like the more chill early Aphex, like the later half of I Care... or the quieter tracks on Caustic and Poly you should definately pick this up. 4/5 Fennesz - Hotel Parallel: Nice ambient(I guess) cd, glitchy kind of stuff, I don't really know what to say about this cd. I guess if you like Zammuto or Pole you should pick it up. 3.5/5 Jake Mandell - Love Songs for Machines: Not as good as I was expecting, but still pretty damn good. Most of the songs kind of sound the same, but thats not necessarily bad. Quality production. If the title strikes your fancy you should pick it up. Listen to it while playing Super Mario or something. 3.5/5 Porter Ricks - Biokinetics: This is a really good cd, sounds like a train travelling underwater which is cool, but its techno and I don't like techno. 3.5/5 Wagon Christ - Tally Ho: Kitchy fun, not as good as his Plug stuff which is great, but its nice chill music. If you like kitchy fun or Plug check it out. 4/5(because its fun), jeez, I used k*tch* twice in the same paragraph AUTECHRE - CONFIELD: The big one. I like it. I give it 5/5 but for a kind of strange reason which is: It gets better with each listen without fail. I'm a big ae fan and I'm not disappointed, in fact I'm relieved because its not more Peel Session 2 stuff. If you didn't like EP7 you should prolly just keep chewing on your binkey and wait for the new plaid who can be counted on to serve up some more of the same, more of what you're used to. 5/5 I've heard the new Squarepusher lp, and HOORAY hooray for what? HOORAY FOR POKEY, I mean, hooray for the new Squarepusher Looking forward to buying Go Plastic, the "new" Zammuto, the new Marumari, the new BoC, and the bootleg of Autechre brushing their teeth. I'm not looking forward to plaid fans gushing about the new repress of the old plaid with a new title. As always, buy Phonem's Hydro Electric for a day at the beah, and for christ's sake if you haven't already pick up My Bloody Valentine's Loveless. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

goddamnit what is wrong with you ppl? i was fucking joking. do you think someone saying they didn't love bjork as much as me makes me that angry? christ i have better things about which to be angry. like ex boyfriends and stuff. btw i think it was totally rad he posted album reviews. the rest of the cocksuckers on this list only talk about stupid autechre (who are okay but really do not deserve all this reverence). it also pisses me off how everyone on here stays within their little idm bubble and can't think about anything else other than flaunting their shitty work or dropping names of shitty obscure artists. i joined this list cuz none of my buds listen to idm (being a 19 yr old girl.. my buds like indie rawk and whatnot).. and i wanted to learn more. all i've discovered is that idmheads are a bunch of pretentious fucks, much like any other scene i s'pose. well except all you guys are prolly fat and smelly and wear wire-rimmed glasses. -erica --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The fact that you're 19 is obvious, though I would have guessed 15. Are you by any chance from Louisiana or Mississippi? Just wondering, by the way you write. Now for a response, though your sweeping generalization really shouldn't (and doesn't) apply to me personally. How long have you been on this list? Why don't you leave, if all the artists mentioned here are not to your well-tempered and obviously better tastes? You mentioned you wanted to learn more. What did you want to learn, if not about other artists to explore? Did you think this would be a Bjork fan list or something? Were you hoping to be blown away by more pointless trivia about the lives of Bjork and whomever else you happem to like? Well, this is, as I have learned in my 9 or so months on-list, a forum for discussing idm and idm-related subjects. Which means we can pretty much discuss whomever we want, as long as we think he/she is idm-related. Whether you won't like it is not something most people care about when they want to express their opinions or start a conversation. Granted, others share your knack for using the wrong words to express how they feel, but the judgments you harbor about them should apply to you as well, and in my opinion the interpretation should come with some understanding on the reader's part, if only so as to reduce the stress in his/her life. I'll finish my rant by repeating what's been said to you already: Lighten the fuck up. Kindly, vzaem "Eat your spinach. It's good for ya."
