I've had this album for about a month now and I have to say it's one of my favorite recent acquisitions. As far as IDM goes, it's heavy on the D, in a good way, but still has excellent "I" qualities as well. One of my favorite parts of the album is the little processed-vocal harmony at the end of track 10 (the princess speaks of love) - and the best part is that he doesn't over use the magic moments like this, which would just ruin it. In fact, that's only there once, and then it's gone, like a frosty winter photo of a magic wonderland. And I have to say he has one of the more creative approaches to track titles, too - much appreciated. This release reminds me vaguely of Two Lone Swordsmen's "Tiny Reminders," though it's not very similar at all really. Someone (sorry I don't remember) described it as a cross between his earlier two albums, Quondam Current and Parallel Processes, and said it wasn't very successful. I think that's kind of a good description, although I disagree tremendously about its lack of success - I think he's done a great job of making another excellent album. Does anyone have any recommendations to similar music? I'm really liking this... --------------------------------------------------- Get free personalized email at http://www.iname.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
