im very curious as to what music you listen to that is not sequenced or quantisized. to me this would mean no measures, time signature, etc. ------------------------------------------------------- using something like max/msp you can sequnce in realtime and depending on how much control you willing to give up allow the computer to have a role in the sequnceing process, its really up to your imagination. but using that environment is not all to easy, I have been reading winklers book on max as well as the downloadable manuals from the site. It gets into object orientend programming. not as intuitive as fruity loops. you might also want to look into buzz ww.buzz2.com its a tracker, you got to write lines of code for patterns and sequences, but once you have a library of such you can do some amazing stuff in real-time and its free but only for the pc. music- look into fennesz, mego, minit - they use tape loops to amazing effect, janek schaefer, pimmon. you might also want to read kim cascones article for that mit music magazine. hope this helps. _____________----______--_______________________ scott_allison multimedia_designer / information_architect mediacentric_group -------------11111————-____————— ++++++ ]]]]]]]]]]]]]]] .........................!!!!!!!!!!!!! 00000 ____^^^^^^^^^^ ---------- /////////************************ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
