Wot about their mix on Auto Reload v 2? How does everyone distinguish between BDP and Plaid these days anyway- do you have to go back and figure out the provenance for each individual track? -rob --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

It's not tough, really. Any Black Dog material that was created after "Spanners" (including Mr. Downie's remixes of Marilyn Manson and Hanson!!! *wretch* ), is just Ken Downie. Anything that's ever been released as Plaid was just Ed and Andy. -Ryan At 09:03 AM 4/5/2001 -0400, you wrote:

OK, but what about stuff released as BDP before the split? I am under the impression that a chunk of the material released on "Trainer" (under the name "Plaid") was originally released exclusively under the BDP name. Hence my question if this Plaid mix is even better than the mix BDP did for Reload (which is one of my favorite BDP moments). -rob --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I see your question now. I wasn't aware that the material on "Trainer" was originally released under the BDP name. Do you know which tracks may have been originally released as such? I know most of disc 1 is from Mbuki Mvuki, but that's it. As for whether the Goldfrapp remix bests the Reload remix, I would say that's a matter of opinion. Personally, I think they're both joyous, and I wouldn't want to part with either. Also, they're completely different animals. BDP remixing one of Global Comm's finest ambient moments is inherently different from an electro mix of the highest caliber. -Ryan At 02:10 PM 4/6/2001 -0400, you wrote:

whats wrong with downie remixing hanson? christopherson from coil directed a video for one of their songs (along with videos by paul mccartney, van halen, robert plant and others...) the fact that downie would do mixes (and could have the opportunity to) i think is a good point in his favor. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

On top of this, Ken has and has had a partner (unless that has dissolved) for some time. I do believe "Adverts" was all Ken, though. jeff "R. Lim" wrote:
