i just noticed on the weekly bentcrayon mail out that one of their records from 1968 has just been re-released at the appalling price of $36 american!! ive always wanted to hear what they sound like, since so many old school experimenter give reference to them, but at that price, is simply beyond hope. does anyone have any links or idea of how one can get to hear some of their stuff??(i know this would probrably be more suited for the coil or nww lists, but i can only handle 300 mailings a week from one source, not three:) thanks in advance brian _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Calm down, Tex. About five years ago, all (most?) of their albums were reissued by the Japanese label Alchemy. They'll run you about $20 or so a pop. -rob --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

alright, now there's some London Ontario memories. The Spasm Band used to play almost everyweek at the Forest City Gallery. I was really good friends with Greg Curnoe's daughter (one of the founders of the band) so ended up at all sorts of strange parties. So my personal favorite is "What About Me". Has a great track of curse words turning into other words...ass-terik, cunt-try, etc... and the great line "You think the C.N Tower is the tallest free standing structure...well what about me"? Those guys were fucked up. I've got a load of live tapes buried at home somewhere that I'll have to dig out. Jeff on 4/3/01 8:44 AM, R. Lim at rlim@escape.com wrote:

The No Record repress is only that expensive because it's the first vinyl available in a looong time. On top of that, it's like 700 copies and 220 (!?!?) gram, collector stock. Almost all NSB stuff is now available on Alchemy on CD, for only $19 or $20 each from Forced Exposure. If you just want to hear them but not committ, get someone to dub some for you. colin. CPI - experimental noise at http://www.mp3.com/cpi/ DXM - abstract ambient at http://www.mp3s.com/dxm1/ ......and of course... http://www.mp3.com/AwkwardBehaviour "Wouldn't you say, Pooh?" / "Say what?" asked Pooh, opening his eyes. / "Music and Living-" / "The same thing," said Pooh. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
