I've been listening to Electroworld again. It's an LP I don't listen to that often but when I do my god I LOVE it. But the problem is that I want more and I've got no ideas where to start. I do have the other Single which helps but still I NEED more. Aaargh. Anyone got any recommendations for similar futuristic, atmospheric, funky electro. I have all the Drexicya stuff which is a stone throw away stylistically. I've heard people like I-F and others but they are into something different. Grant

Try Kraftwelt's Retroish! It's very similar in style. it's a little less purely electro, but it's definately in the same corner if you ask me. Also B12 and The Railway Raver's Drop acid not bombs are recommended. You should definately also check out Duplex (see www.clone.nl). How about Bochum Welt or DMX Krew? Admittedly they sound pretty different to Electroids, but they're all variations in the electro-field. If you like Drexciya, be sure to get your hands on the Doppler Effect stuff! They're very similar in style (isn't Doppler Effect supposedly one guy from Drexciya or something?). Hope this get's you on the way :) TheTec. --- spectro <spectro@goconnect.net> wrote:

drexciya, dopplereffekt, japanese telecom, elektroids, ultradyne, are all artists connected somehow. although i cannot tell you how, you will find the similarities in their music that you are looking for....also check out anything by ectomorph thats a few years old (the new work bites ass), adult, lecar, aux 88, and red planet. p.s.- dopplereffekt and ultradyne will be doing an afterparty at this years demf (sunday the 27th 12pm to 5am) and will be the first performance of dopplereffekt in a few years. i am also playing that show and there will be a web page to gather some info even further in a while. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

ummm... please purchase anything you can by Carl Finlow a name that belongs in every "IDM"'ers electro section in there collection. but for the more electroid sound, anything on Hotmix, Murder Capital, Ersatz-Audio, one CD I've enjoyed for about a year now is STERIL - Robofication..... g "Anything that separates us is junk. i'd recommend dopplereffekt's "gesamtkunstwerk" CD/LP (international deejay gigolos) as the closest thing to elektroids, and you might also dig mr. velcro fastener's "lucky bastards up north" (i220, just released domestically on statra) - both are wicked lo-fi electro records with a cheeky sense of humor... ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 7 Feb 2001 20:58:09 +1100 To: "IDM List" <idm@hyperreal.org> From: "spectro" <spectro@goconnect.net> Subject: Elecktroids / Electro Recommendations Message-ID: <00b601c090ec$7e266160$4d5e5cca@grantove> ------=_NextPart_000_00B3_01C09148.AD3CF520 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I've been listening to Electroworld again. I haven't really looked over the whole lineup and I'm not sure if I can go but I also noticed Perspects are playing DEMF last day; I don't know how they are live but they've got some wicked tracks (1982 for You, Desire & Efficiency, Where are We, etc) if you're into the Adult or Ersatz Audio electro sound. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

On the same plane, I just picked up an OLD comp called "Beyond The Sun 2" from that Cheapo site I posted the other day and it's a pretty decent slab of electroish stuff...Insync v. Mysterion, Alien FM, old Sterac, Truph, Shiver, Rising Sun (Ishi), etc..'twas truly cheap-o, too! jeff Brock Phillips wrote:
