p'tahh is chris brann, formerly known from his wamdue house project. one of the last few xlr8r's has a good interview with him. 'compressed light' and the new rmx album 'decompressed light' are both great. file it under jazz/breakbeat/brokenbeat, points of reference might be herbie hancock, some of the jazzier burnt friedman, miles davis, sun ra, spyro gyra? its samplecore space jazz, ambient fills, really mellow in parts. the 12's are really fun to play with.
