Ross, Did you like the Sense track.. "Day Off"? If so you may be happy to know that I have just signed Sense to the Aural Industries label. With initial plans of releasing 2 EP's from him including the "Fourier Transformation" EP from which "Day Off" was taken and also the "Goodbye Mr Henderson" EP which is absolutely gorgeous and very haunting and is dedicated to Sense's friend who unfortunately died from cancer in July this year. This EP will probably come out first and contains 4 excellent tracks as well as mp3's of the tracks and some info on the EP and the incredible blender video (AVI format) to the track "Last Right". Regards, John Aural Industries Pty Ltd Australian Electronic Music and Multimedia

Quothe Scott Allison: yea i agree, i have only heard a few of his songs, and they are good. I do agree who ever wrote that press release is a bit tweeked. ----- Just because you (not just you scott) disagree with someone's writing style, doesn't mean you have to take the time, not only in front of LOADS of people, but also in front of the one who wrote it, to bash him incessantly... and one step beyond that, in the name of my best friend. I am more than ashamed of all of you. I don't give a shit who you are. It was an honest and excellent review by someone I care for of someone else I care for and you're all repeatedly showing how thin skinned you are.. claiming to be above the average intelligence and instead being all chin scratching ego. This is truly one worse than the females in IDM thread... which, btw, I am female as well. regardless.. I have no idea why I just wasted my time typing all this out.. of the 7 years I've been on this list, its never changed for the better.. <snip snip> done. ,,^. .^,, --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The IDM list is a public forum, and as such you are displaying your words and your opinions in front of a lot of people. We discuss music and creative endeavors of others everyday, and often times in ways that the people we are discussing would probably not necessarily appreciate. But that's what making a public statement involves, whether it's a record or a press release. I don't think it helps to be particularly precious about what you are putting forth, then you just get hurt because someone laughed at what you did. I don't think it was a personal attack so much with what people wrote in response to the press release, but I got a chuckle out of it when I read it to for exactly the same reasons the other people did... it came across as liner notes to the secret John Tesh tapes or something. It's kind of like walking down the street with no pants and being upset that people are pointing at you, or vicariously upset that people are pointing at your friend with no pants. I've lost count of the number of times I've heard incivility excused with "It's the net -- get over it" or equivalent. It's just as lame an excuse as it's always been. Life would truly suck if we always had to be emotionally on guard, afraid to describe our feelings without simultaneously preparing to deny them. Yet I get the sense that there are some folks here who must rush to their keyboards to attack any honest expression of emotion, lest some latent humanity escape unchallenged. And this is in a group that is supposedly for people who share a common love for varied musics, a group which generally decries claims that electronic music is somehow "inhuman" or "soulless." Grow up. This isn't a school lunchroom game of "gotcha." Wearing ones heart on ones sleeve here shouldn't be a signal for a verbal dog pile. There are a multitude of ways of describing music and our relationships with it. Using terms like "heart" and "soul" are among these. I suggest you learn to deal with it, if you haven't already. -Ed --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
