Now Playing: oHgr - Welt
I'm liking a lot of this. He's using much more vocal melody than he has
before. We saw some of that on the Ritalin cd. It's nice to hear him sing.
Probably 50% of the time the vocals are processed to sound like the Nivek we
know and love. The rest of the time he actually sounds human.
Gary Numan meets The Land of Rape and Honey meets Nine Inch Nails meets Echo
and the Bunnymen meets KMFDM.
I'm not familiar with Mark Walk's other work, but on the whole the songs on
this cd are too short. 11 songs at 44 minutes. That might have been his
doing or Ogre's, or maybe it was just how the songs turned out. Traditional
structures for the most part- verse break verse break bridge verse fade out.
After the disappointing Ritalin cd I'm glad they shunned acoustic instuments
almost entirely- Bill Reiflin plays on a couple songs.
