Team Doyobi: s/t (Skam 016) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A mid-sized album with some great track titles :)- "Push Chairs For Grown Ups", "Kitten Development", "Two Of Everythying", "Birdstrike", others...- Im not so familiar with the material out on Skam, but if this LP is any indication then ive been missing out! :) the music sounds as if Dat Politics were to play in the style of Mouse On Mars or the like- in other words, the music is both electronically basic/fundamental like Dat Politics but its put to use with beats and melodies much more fully. It shifts from one theme/rhythm to another in a haphazzard yet connected manner- songs that dramatically change their character and then fall back in place again- generally speaking very upbeat so as not to be toooo playful but still fun music. Ahem. well thats my attempt at a review- now you might know why i dont do such so often :) Saying all that, ill make a quick mention that Muslimgauze's latest lp that goes untitled is the bomb! a perfect mix of distortion, dub, and eastern instrumentation/rythms. Goes with the best of his stuff... i am guessing its still available from David at PBE. out- -Thad on now: Terry Riley: Shri Camel --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
