for a few years (mid 90's) I was a FAX junkie but last couple years I simply got tired of FAX and sold most of my collection. However, one title that I always knew I'd hang on to was: REDEYE - Arizona Tracks are there any other "structured"/IDM'like FAX releases (outside of the JetChambers) you suggest. Too often I found FAX to be dull and boring... anything good comming outta that camp last few years? -g "Anything that separates us is junk. Though you certainly won't find any Richard Devine'ish DSP trickery on FAX, there are still many IDM releases there :) My favourite IDM album on FAX is 'Waiting For Snow' by Peter Benisch. I'd describe it as 'amber-era autechre with biosphere's cold harmonies'. No 20-minute long tracks, no signs of conservative schulze-like sound. Really an excellent album (especially part VIII, truly a hit). Two more idm gems are both HIA / Namlook "S.H.A.D.O" albums. Long (10-15 min) tracks with rather slow development, but still 100% IDM, a beautiful combination of analogue synth melodies and slow distorted beats. Spacetime Continuum "Sea Biscuit" (at first released on fax, later reissued on astralwerks) is more electro/ambient than idm, but it is really exellent too. Very beaty for a fax album. If you like Redeye, check this out. Some of Namlook live albums have IDM'ish moments too, but i find them a bit too improvised and lacking ideas.
