Four new releases from the Mille Plateaux/Force Inc/Force Tracks this
time focusing in on a deeper dubbier sound. The first is an excellent
deep experimental glitch-dub album called 'Ljud' by Andreas
Tilliander (aka Mokira, Komp, & Skitus). Ljud features ten untitled
tracks that hover somewhere between pole, snd, komet, and kit
clayton. Very nice stuff and even better than his mokira - clickhop
cd album which came out on rastermusic a few months ago.
The second solo effort from Mikael Stavostrand is called 'Reduce.'
Stavostrand's 'Lite' album on the Mitek label was a highlight of last
year and featured a murky mix of experimental ambient, and some deep
techno as well. This new album seems to focus a little more on the
deep techno and dubby ambience sound but that doesnt make it any less
enjoyable. This one's definitely for the experimental bc/cr fans.
After four 12" eps for Force Tracks, Crane A.K. release their first
album entitled Pink Eyed Pony. As with the previous Crane A.K. eps,
Pink Eyed Pony features a mix of deep house & dubby techno with a few
downtempo moments mixed in not unlike some of the Raum...Musik label
releases. It also reminded me of the 'Rhythmogenesis' album by MRI
what Force Tracks released late last year as well as parts of the
'Main Things' album by Atlon Inc coming out next month. Nice deep
percussive tracks that are easy to get lost in.
Speaking of Atlon Inc's 'Main Things' album, it's due out on Force
Inc next month. Atlon Inc is the deep techno/tech-house guise of
prolific german producer Rob Acid. Atlon Inc, who also records as
Robert Babciz, Dicabor, Gnork, and Acid Warrior (to name just a few
guises), delivers twelve tracks of techno that wavers between deep
techno, minimal techno, tech-house and techno dub that at times
sounds like Auch, other times sounds like Crank A.K. and other times
sounds like MRI. But regardless of similarities, after two previous
eps on Force Inc, Atlon Inc delivers yet another deep
shoulder-shakin' listening experience.
